One of the key elements of website design is the ability for you the website owner to be able to update the website yourself. The industry term for this is Content Management System (CMS). With so many to choose from it can be hard to know what’s best. Here are Mike Leach Creative, we came across this gem of a system called Adobe Business Catalyst.
We won’t bore you with all the reasons we like it but here are the key reasons we often recommend it to our clients.
- If you can use Microsoft Word, you will be able to use this system. With a short training session you will be up to speed in no time and adding/removing/editing pages, uploading images and performing the most basic of tasks with ease.
- Everything you need is in one place. Often CMS systems will require you to use a number of different systems, this has it all there for you. If you just need a website, you can have just a website. If you need a website that will also have integrated email marketing then this will do it for you. If e-commerce is your requirement then this has a fully fledged e-commerce system included.
- With 3 levels of pricing you only pay for what you need. If you don’t need the e-commerce then you don’t pay for it. Likewise with the email marketing. If it’s not your thing then you don’t pay for it.
- All your hosting, email and maintenance is paid in one fee. With open source CMS systems you may get the CMS system for free, but as with all software this will need to be kept up to date with new patches & releases. Not only does Business Catalyst take care of this on your behalf, your hosting and use of the system is also included.
